For most of us, 2023 was an exceptional year. Many broke new grounds and made lots of progress. While for some, the year was full of ups and downs. The sons of light shouldn't be the ones sidetracked. The children of God shouldn't be like the foolish virgins, who we know were caught unexpectedly and unawares. We also should understand seasons and stay sensitive to changes in the unseen realm.

By the Holy Spirit, a child of God should know when the enemy is plotting yet another evil, so as to rise up and thwart his evil plots before they have a chance to manifest. It is one of the reasons why it's crucial to pray crossover prayers.

The world is God's creation. We have read in the book of Genesis, how the first man lost the dominion mandate to the enemy, thereby putting the world in subjection to the evil one. 

But through the coming and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, the lost dominion mandate was restored to man. Christians can now operate with this mandate to execute God's will on earth as it is in Heaven.

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 

That said, it is scriptural to pray for the world. The Bible calls us the light of this world (Matthew 5:14-16) and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13). But how can we bring illumination, restoration and preservation to the world, if we do not pray for the world? One powerful way we as Christians can make this happen is by praying for the world.

There are many reasons why we should persistently pray for the world. One of them is because we want to show Jesus to the world—that the world may know Him as God's redemption plan—if by so doing they might get saved.
