Prayer For Every New Week

There's need to commit our new week into the hands of God, before we step into it. With proper prayer we can be sure our new week will go as expected.
Prayer For New Week

We're often instructed to start our day with God. But why not start our weeks with Him also?

Considering the fact that some Christians work round the clock and do not really have the opportunity to pray as much as they should, I believe it is better they always make time to pray effectively (especially during the weekend) for their coming week—just before they step into it.

Why We Should Always For Our New Week

Prayer is an integral part of Christian living. The Bible instructs us to pray about everything (Philippians 4:6-7). It is very important to always commit our new week into the hands of the Almighty. I believe that the need to pray for every new week (before we actually step into it) cannot be overemphasised. Nevertheless, let's see more specific reasons why we should do this below:

1. Time Constraint

A good number of Christians have businesses and jobs that rarely give them the opportunity to spend quality time in prayer. Some only have a little time to spend on other things during the week. I think it is a wise thing to do, if we seize the opportunity to spend quality time with God in prayer, during the weekend—praying for the coming week.

2. The Enemy Is Always Plotting

The fact that most Christians rarely have time for themselves, their family or prayer, does not mean the enemy will give them a break from spiritual attacks. Christians have much to do, but the enemy only has one goal to pursue daily; which is launching attacks against the people of God.

1 Peter 5:8 KJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

Since the enemy is always plotting and scheming, it is risky to step into a new week without prayer. No Christian should take such a risk. Make sure you pray effectively and cover your new week against the influence, manipulation and attacks of darkness.

3. To Ensure Our Safety During The Week

Prioritise praying for your new week as much as you prioritise staying safe during the week. For a Christian, there's no safety outside of God and effective prayer. We may have no idea what the enemy has plotted against us for the coming week, but if we pray we can be sure of our safety!

Christians have no spiritual backing outside of God; our safety is in Him. To ensure that we're always safe and free from the snares of the darkness, we must make sure we pray! Make use of the little opportunity you have and do not neglect prayer. A prayer for protection towards the new week can go along way to ensure our safety during the week.

4. Pray For Your Sound Health

It is not enough to have a job or a business to do. What if we aren't in good health, can we continue working that job and supervising that business? Health is wealth, and the enemy knows this; that is why he also goes after the Christian's health.

People can make a lot of money, but if they are not in good health they really cannot find pleasure in that money. Prosperity goes beyond garnering wealth but also being in good health, and that is God's will for your life.

3 John 1:2 KJV
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Your prayer for your new week should touch on your health. You want to be sound and strong while going about your business, but don't forget that the devil does not want that for you. Rest assured, through prayer you can keep him under your feet while going about your business undisturbed.

Prayer For A New Week

Having understood how important it is to pray for your new week, join me in prayer for a new week as follows:

  1. Thank You Father for your protection and sustenance throughout this week. Be highly exalted, in Jesus Name. Amen.
  2. Father, I commit my new week into Your able hands. Take preemptive control over it, in Jesus Name.
  3. Lord Jesus I ask that You take preeminence over my new week. My days during the week shall turn out just the way You programmed them for me. Amen!
  4. By the authority of Jesus Christ, I come against every form of mishap during the new week. I decree and declare that bad days are not my portion, in Jesus Name.
  5. Father, I ask that You keep me out of trouble during the week. Frustrate every plan of the enemy to get me in trouble, in Jesus Name. Amen.
  6. Father, as I am about to step into the new week, I ask that you send Your Angels to take charge of each day during the week. Ward off every preplanned attack of the enemy against me during the week. Amen.
  7. No weapon fashioned against me during the new week shall prosper. They shall not be successfully executed against me, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!
  8. I cover my everyday journey during the week with the blood of Jesus Christ. I shall go out and return safely, in the Name of Jesus Christ!
  9. Mighty Angels of God, locate and arrest every force of darkness stationed in nooks and crannies against me towards the new week. I shall step out to do exploits, unstoppable by any agent of darkness, in Jesus Name!
  10. I decree and declare, may new connections and opportunities present themselves to me during the new week. Amen.
  11. Father, I commit my family and friends into Your able hands. Let them find safety under your Mighty hand during the week, in the Name of Jesus Christ.
  12. Every form of evil plotted against me towards the coming week, begin to backfire NOW, in the Name of Jesus Christ!
  13. Thank You Father for I know that You have answered. Thank You for yet another productive week that I am about to step into, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
