Prayer Against Bad Dreams And Nightmares

I've noticed that bad dreams and nightmares are prevalent, even among Christians. But we have to understand that as Christians, there are problems we can't completely eliminate—so long we are still alive on earth. One of such problems are spiritual attacks. 

Spiritual attacks will always come; no Christian outgrows it. But we can resist the enemy's attacks to a great extent through prayers. 

By prayers, we can reduce the frequency and severity of nightmares to its barest minimum. That's why I bring you these prayers today. 

What Are Nightmares? 

Nightmares are all bad and unpleasant dreams that you don't want to see while sleeping.

Dreams in general, come from three sources:

• God Almighty
• The human mind 
• Satan the devil 

In the book of Psalm 127:2, we are told that God gives sleep to His beloved. It is the devil who does not want the people of God to enjoy sound sleep. 

The enemy does not like it when people experience peace and have nothing bugging them. He always finds one way or the other to cause trouble. This should not sound strange to us, since that is what he exists for. 

God is eternally benevolent—He is always good. The devil is eternally malevolent—he will always be evil. 

You don't expect Satan to repent tomorrow and stop attacking people, No. As Christians, we live to resist him, in order to remain steadfast and victorious in God till the end. 

• Why am I having nightmares every night?

The kingdom of God suffers violence and men of violence take it by force. You don't expect to have a Christianity that if free from spiritual opposition, except you want to be lukewarm. 

Nightmares are the terrors of the night that we are told about in Psalm 91:5.

Psalm 91:5 KJV

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.

It is no one else but the devil who terrorises people in their sleep (via nightmares). No one loves to have bad dreams. Therefore, we cannot embrace such but fight against them. 

Nightmares are not just ordinary dreams. They can pose negative affects on the dreamer's waking life, if they are not dealt with.

The devil and his cohorts make it their point of duty to leave evil deposits in people through nightmares. They strive to harm the people of God through bad dreams. These are some of the reasons why nightmares and bad dreams must not be allowed to continue without resistance. 

Heaven does not endorse these disturbances from the kingdom of darkness. That is why the Lord has provided us with all that is required to overcome the enemy and trample upon all of his works. We must make the best use of them. We must stay prayed up.

Before You Use These Prayer Points

Understand that the battle is the Lord's. Invite Him into it and give Him the glory due Him. We are not the ones fighting but Jesus is the One fighting through us. 

You don't confront the kingdom of darkness because you are Anointed. You confront them through Jesus Christ. We have no power of our own.

Understand that spiritual warfare is deadly and can cost lives if they are handled carelessly and wrongly. Always ensure you are covered before stepping into the enemy's territory. 

The Holy Spirit loves spiritual warfare. Your body is His temple. Don't desecrate His temple, but keep it holy always. That makes Him happy and ever willing to show up, to help you in spiritual warfare. 

Prayer Points To Cancel Bad Dreams

1. Thank You Father, for I know that it is Your will that I overcome nightmares and all forms of disturbances from the kingdom of darkness. 
2. Father, I tap into this victory that You have made available to me through Christ, to overcome nightmares in the Jesus Mighty Name. 
3. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus and surround myself with the Fire of God. No evil arrow shall penetrative this hedge of protection around me, in Jesus Name. 
4. Holy Spirit of God, raise a standard against every persistent nightmares and disturbances in my dreams, in Jesus Name (Isaiah 59:19 KJV). 
5. Fire of God, locate and consume every agent of darkness assigned to attack me in my dreams in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. 
6. By the authority of Jesus Christ, I frustrate the assignment of every spiritual manipulator assigned to manipulate my dream life, in Jesus Mighty Name! 
7. By the authority of Jesus Christ, I bind and reverse back to the pit of Hell, every demon assigned to terrorize my dream life, in Jesus Name! 
8. By the blood of Jesus Christ, I blot out my name from the list of those programmed for attacks at night, in Jesus Mighty Name! 
9. I release the fire of God over every witchcraft coven, gathered against me right NOW in Jesus Mighty Name! 
10. Fire of the Holy Ghost, locate every agent of darkness assigned against me this night in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! 
11. I frustrate the assignment of every agent of darkness assigned against me this night in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! 
12. Mighty Angels of God, locate and arrest every agent of darkness within this vicinity, assigned to attack me this night in Jesus Mighty Name! 
13. Flaming arrows of the Holy Ghost, locate every agent of darkness assigned against me this night; wherever they are NOW in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! 
14. I release the flaming chains of the Holy Ghost; I bind and return to the pit of Hell, every resident demon assigned against me in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. 
15. By the flaming sword of God, I sever every ley line of darkness, used to locate and attack me wherever I am in Jesus Name. 
16. Father I ask that you release Your warrior Angels to take charge of my home, and repel every attack from the kingdom of darkness, in Jesus Name! 
17. I decree and declare the peace of God upon my dream life in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. 
18. From now henceforth, every conspiracy of darkness to dominate my dream life with nightmares, shall prove abortive in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! 
19. Every new strategy and tactic of darkness that may be deviced as a means to continue attacking me, shall fail woefully in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! 
20. Thank You Father, for I know that You have done it, in Jesus Name. Amen! 

How To Use These Prayer Points

As you can see, the whole host of Heaven is been engaged through these prayers against the kingdom of darkness. No agent of darkness can withstand that. Their power is not close to that level. 

Make sure your life is right with God before using these prayers. If you feel it is necessary you confess sins before using these prayer points, simply go ahead and do that!
